Dragamonz Card Game How To Play

The Dragamonz Collectible Figure and Trading Card Game, often abbreviated as the Dragamonz CFTCG or just the Dragamonz TCG is a line of eggs designed to be smashed open, revealing small half dragon-half animal figures inside. These figures are accompanied with a line of collectible trading cards that are included with each egg, allowing for further play.

Are YOU ready to throw down with some of the bravest, silliest, and most epic creatures you've ever seen? Good! Get ready to smash, collect, and battle with Dragamonz, the newest collectible and trading card game!

History

On September 12, 2018, Spinmaster Ltd. filed a trademark on the word Dragamonz, hinting towards the release of a new toyline. On August 6, 2019, Series 1 of the Dragamonz CFTCG was released to store shelves.

After a moderate success with the first series, the Super Series of the Dragamonz CFTCG was released on March 28, 2020.

General

The Dragamonz CFTCG line of products all consist of at least one dragon egg and two packs of cards; a set of Dragon Cards and a set of Attack or "Battle" cards. The cards and dragon eggs can be used independently from each other.

Collectible Figures

The Dragamon egg is mostly a hard plastic, but on it's underside the shell is able to be broken open to reveal a Dragamon figure inside. Each figure is roughly a quarter in size, and are made of a soft plastic and depending on the rarity will be partially translucent.

Trading Card Game

As for the Dragamon and Battle Cards, each egg will come packaged with a single Dragon card representing the Dragamon inside the egg, and a set of 6 battle cards in a black sleeve.

How to play

A breakdown of a Dragon Card.

During setup, each player chooses three dragons to play and takes their corresponding Dragamon card. They will place the Dragamonz on top of their matching dragon card in a row in front of them directly across from their opponent. Each dragon gets a deck of five cards that matches their faction.

The youngest player goes first, chooses a Dragamon to battle, and pulls two cards from that Dragamon's faction deck to play. That player places one of the two cards down next to the dragon in play, replaces the other at the bottom of the deck, and flips over the battle card in use during the round. This player will add the attack number on the dragon card to the boost number on the battle card.

Meanwhile, the opponent will add the counter-attack number to the boost number on their battle card. The Dragamon with the lower total is defeated and is removed from the game along with its cards. Players alternate turns until one loses all of their Dragamon's. The one with Dragamon's left standing is the winner.
